Discovery Green’s Rainbow on ICE merges a night of skating along with jaw-dropping entertainment and a fashion show Friday, January 11 from 7 - 10 p.m. The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green is open Feb 10 through March 17. "Sally Mann: A Thousand Crossings" is scheduled for March 3 through May 27 at 10 a.m. Spring has finally sprung: the azaleas are in full bloom, Discovery Green is back with its outdoor roller rink, and were all making excuses to get out of. The first 50 skaters in line skate for free and Forever Green members skate for free from 5 - 7 p.m. "Sally Mann: A Thousand Crossings," including 112 images organized into sections: family, landscape, battlefields, legacy and mortality. Guests will experience seven weeks of roller-skating fun (including weekly theme nights) at Discovery Green. Now the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is bringing us the first major retrospective of her career. Houston’s first outdoor roller rink returns for a third season. Film-goers caught her story in the 1994 documentary about her work, Blood Ties, as well as in the 2006 Emmy-nominated feature film that captured her creative process, What Remains. The passage of time has been kinder to this American photographer who was later named "America's Best Photographer" by Time magazine. Kim Rushing Sally Mann suffered some backlash upon the publication of Immediate Family, a coffee table book that included photos of her unclothed children.
